As 2016 draws to a close, MTD is reflecting upon what has been our most successful year in business. In a year that has had its fair share of ups and downs, where 'uncertainty' has been the most commonly used word in the industry, we have adopted the time old mantra of investing in technology to grow as a business. So, here's a run-down of what have we done in 2016 

Whether it's the written word, video content, weekly shows or email delivery, our philosophy is about delivering the very latest technology and how to adopt best practice. For our business to evolve, we've just practiced what we preach...

2016 in Numbers

The MTDCNC brand has rocketed in the last 2-3 years and the online brand is expecting to almost double its turnover to exceed £2m in the next 18 months. To support this growth and swelling staff numbers, MTDCNC has recently moved to new and larger offices in Burton Latimer, which also houses an in-house filming studio. 

MTDCNC has produced over 700 videos this year, which now gives the 200,000 monthly viewers plenty of new and fresh content to browse through. The new 'Swarf & Chips' weekly show has received over 10,000 viewers in the first four weeks and remarkably, the show has an average view time of 14 minutes. On top of these glowing statistics, MTD has now launched a new www.mtd.network website that has over 50 engineering companies subscribed, something that is growing fast..

From an endorsement perspective, we get lots of great feedback from our customers. One customer that recently appeared on the 'Swarf & Chips' show received phone calls from perspective customers on the same day the video went live. So, if you have a new technology to promote, give us a call and you could be on the next edition of the show...

As a business, MTD CNC now employs a web developer, 2 digital marketing experts, 1 apprentice, 2 cameramen, and 2 film editors and now we've added another digital marketing expert - all this has happened in the last 18 months.

Commenting on the increasing staff numbers, MTDCNC's Managing Director, Mr Paul Jones says: "We’ve just employed another web developer to enhance our offering on both the MTD network and the MTDCNC channel. We wouldn't be able to keep up with on-line developments and business growth without adding a second full time web developer."

Looking forward to 2017, Paul says: "What we do really delivers results for engineers. Next  year will be even better with two brand new products being launched in the 1st quarter of 2017, we literally can’t wait. With our new offerings, I fully expect our business to double in size by the end of 2017. The industry has been screaming out for a marketing platform that delivers quantifiable results for marketers and sales engineers. The success of our brand is down to the hard work and expertise of our team, whether it's the guys on the road, the guys in front of the camera or the tech guys in the office."
