BEST Centric Grippers

Detailed Specification

The BEST range of low-profile, centric (self-centring) vices are ideal for clamping components for multi-axis metal-cutting applications on machining centres. Cylindrical models provide excellent all-round access and uniquely may be turned at up to 3,000 rpm on a rotary table.

BEST vices combine top quality and high clamping forces up to 100 kN with very competitive prices. Able to clamp on only 3mm of material, avoiding pre-machining.
Centring accuracy is +/- 0.01mm with 5 microns repeatability of concentricity for manual and pneumatic vices, and one micron repeatability for hydraulic types.
Vices range in length from 115mm to 500mm and have up to 50mm stroke. Face plates and adapters allow them to be fitted to any machine table, pallet or rotary table.
The workholding units may be screwed conventionally to a table or used as a zero-point vice on the BEST Realpoint quick-change system, or other manufacturers’ zero-point clamping system after simple adaptation.
Vibration absorbing, thermally stable, epoxy mineral tombstones with integrated Realpoint zero-point clamping are available.
Completely sealed vices have their working components protected against ingress of swarf and coolant.
Jaw varieties including soft, knife-edge, stepped, and gripper are manufactured from a range of materials from aluminium through to hardened and ground steel.
