CMS Cepcor Choose Correa

CMS Cepcor Choose Correa

Added to MTDCNC by DTS (UK) Ltd on 25 February 2013

CMS Cepcor are based in Coalville, Leicestershire and have been serving the aggregate & mining industries since 1975.  Their primary role is in the manufacture of replacement machine parts for other companies in the quarry and mining industry.  The machines involved, by definition, are pretty large as they are engaged in mining products from deep underground regions.  CMS Cepcor does not actually manufacture the mining machines; they only manufacture the spare parts for them.

Historically, CMS Cepcor subcontracted the manufacture of spare parts to local engineering firms for machining work.  This, however, had a tendency to create production and throughput problems that often left CMS Cepcor in the situation where they felt that they did not really have full control of their end-to-end process.  In the third quarter of 2012 they decided that it was time to do something about that; they began to scour the market for a large bed-milling machine that they felt would help satisfy their customer base by allowing them to machine of a lot of the spare parts required.

At this juncture CMS Cepcor were already offering their client base the benefits of their extensive machine shop with their large turning centres, various large machine tools and a decent-sized bed milling machine.  However, they still felt some way short of their goal in their desire to gain full control over their manufacturing process.

CMS Cepcor decided to invest in the new Correanayak bed type milling machine.  One of the most attractive features of this particular machine is that it has an extensive x-axis stretching over 3 metres and an extensive y-axis of over 1 metre.  By purchasing this new machine, CMS Cepcor were thereby equipping themselves with the unprecedented ability to machine two parts simultaneously.  CMS Cepcor selected the Correanayak range as it was a very well-regarded global brand that had an excellent reputation within the industry for reliability and timeliness.

CMS Cepcor was not just concerned about the machine quality & reliability, but they were also keen on the customer service provided by their supplier and DTS (UK) Ltd gave them real confidence, in terms of integrity and round-the-clock responsiveness.

The Correanayak machine installation went really well and to date has been a real success.  CMS Cepcor Technical Director Chris Sydenham commented, 'The machines have a great reputation for reliability and for providing excellent machining results and these factors were amongst many that persuaded us to go down the DTS (UK) Ltd / Correanayak route.  There's no question in my mind that further purchases of this nature will be made: it’s not a question of if, more of a question of when?'
