Letchworth model firm makes early Christmas present purchase from Hurco

As part of the festive season a Letchworth prototyping company has gifted itself a state-of-the art piece of equipment to speed up its production.

Ogle Models and Prototypes, located on Birds Hill in Letchworth, has made an early Christmas present purchase in the shape of a Hurco VM30i 3 axis machining centre.

The pioneering system that cost in excess of £60,000 will increase capacity and give greater flexibility to customers, allowing faster turnaround times.

Dave Bennion, Marketing and Sales Director, said: “We’ve had a fantastic year at Ogle, so we thought we would treat ourselves to this innovative piece of equipment which we firmly believe will boost efficiency, turnaround times and quality.

“We’re committed to our clients, providing them with accurate models delivered on time and within budget, but we recognise in order to keep ahead of the game, investment must be made into purchasing new equipment.”

The Hurco VM30i 3 axis machining centre is a high speed piece of kit with a large machining envelope of 1270mm x 508mm x 508mm.

The purchase has been added to Ogle’s fleet of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines that have all been carefully selected to deliver accurate, quality and flexible products for the firm’s extensive client list.

Ogle is one of the leading CNC model-making companies and firmly believes applying the highly specialised process to all its models is the best choice for prototyping, jigs and fixtures, form and fit testing, and creating functional parts for end-use applications. It is also extremely successful for ergonomic models for the aerospace, automotive and medical industries.

There are now eight CNC machines onsite that staff have access to, allowing them to continue to combine their high-tech rapid prototyping techniques with traditional bench skills, ensuring customers receive the best quality prototypes and parts, on time, every time.
