Royal Enfield plans for absolute growth with Hexagon MI technology

MTD’s Mark Deadman was like a kid in sweet shop when he was asked to visit the world famous iconic motorbike brand, Royal Enfield, to find out why when it came to confidence in measurement they decided to invest in Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s Romer Absolute Arm.

Mark speaks to Quality Assurance Manager Dave King about why they made the decision to purchase the measurement arm from Hexagon after a thorough research, test and demonstration of what was available in the market. Why they felt the arm they chose gave them more confidence in the quality and accuracy of the measurement they needed whilst being simple enough for a range of staff to use in their tech centre. It also offered more flexibility and comfort enabling them to measure in some quite tight spaces meaning the retrofit and redevelopment on older classic parts was an achievable outcome.

Mark also met with Royal Enfield’s Head of Product Development, Simon Warburton, to discuss why they decided to open a tech centre in the UK and how the unique engineering infrastructure and opportunities in the UK will aid in their growth plans.
