2007

Machine Tool Direct Ltd was founded and launched the website www.machinetooldirect.co.uk on May 27th. It was the conception of the future of digital marketing within the machine tool arena, with no other competition machinetooldirect.co.uk became the only place to search and find all the machines for sale in the UK market in one place.

2010

The business was growing fast, we were pleased to secure Joe Reynolds as an employee in the company. He assisted the team in elevating our platform to wider audience including tooling/workholding and cutting tools. Joe helped us establish the business helping machinetooldirect become a household name among engineers.

2011

Our YouTube channel was launched and video media became the method of communication, many individuals suggesting this method of marketing would never work as engineers do NOT use the internet, how wrong they were.

2013

Mark Deadman joined the company, with all his Industry publishing experience this was a valued addition to our team giving us new ideas and new routes into previously untouchable organisations. A perfect marriage bringing publishing knowledge into the digital World.

2015

Colin Griffiths was the next scoop for MTD, a tenacious individual with a hunger for new challenges. The mtd.network was formed and with his energy and knowledge this quickly became the go to channel for engineers looking for work.

2017

MTDCNC achieves the milestone of seeing 200,000 per month to all channels. The website now requires the services of 20 employees, this team also help us produce over 100 technical videos per month.

2018

Our YouTube channel hits 10,000 subscribers. The new look website is launched and quickly the channel is beginning to stand alone in the communication of news stories and topics from the metal cutting industry.
