Software Tips From Vero’s New Area Manager

Vero Software have appointed a new area sales manager for the North of England. Matt Martin will be focusing on the VISI, Edgecam and WorkNC brands.

He joins the world’s number one CAM software company from a technical sales role working with Radio Frequency Identification solutions to a range of industries, including automotive, manufacturing and retail.

Before that, his background was in operations management, running large teams in engineering/field service sectors. “Throughout my career I’ve been extremely customer-focused, and am looking forward to ensuring that manufacturers gain maximum benefit from their investment in Vero’s market-leading solutions.”

Matt Martin is already providing tips to customers on two ways of improving productivity. “One of VISI’s fastest growing applications is VISI Flow. This provides predictive analytics to demonstrate the expected polymer flow – a key consideration during tool design. This is enabling mould makers to bring flow analytics in-house, instead of relying on an expensive outsourced service.”

His second tip is aimed at showing Edgecam users how the software’s new direct modelling application, Edgecam Designer, which he says is revolutionising the CAD for CAM market by focusing on the specific needs of machinist programmers.

“Designer enables users to create new designs or modify existing geometry from third party CAD systems.  While it operates separately from the CAM system, there are triggers within it which will launch CAM, and there is full associativity between the two. Our customers who were a little disillusioned with other design solutions are finding that Designer is truly the right CAD for CAM, by providing a full set of tools to fill the gap between the two.”

Commenting on Matt Martin’s appointment, Vero’s UK Sales Manager David Rogers says: “I am very pleased to welcome Matt Martin into the Vero Team as Northern Area Sales Manager with responsibilities for Designer, Edgecam, WorkNC, WorkXplore and VISI.

“Matt brings with him an impressive and well-rounded business background and a customer focused approach.  He spent the first six years as a Factory Manager leading a large Team with top and bottom line commercial responsibility, followed by two years as Technical Sales Manager in asset management solutions comprising hardware and software. A real people person, he looks forward to getting to know all his customers, both old and new.”
