WORKPLAN to Show Production Management and MES functions at Paris Salons Solutions

WORKPLAN is exhibiting at the forthcoming Paris Salons Solutions Trade Fair, giving visitors the opportunity to see how its variety of functions will improve their production management.

The software is the first Production Management solution from the Hexagon Group to combine ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) functions in a unique database.

During the October 1 – 3 on Stand F35, in Hall 3.2, WORKPLAN will demonstrate how it integrates seamlessly with machine events, monitoring, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), CAM supervision, Workflow and part traceability.

Widely represented in the tooling equipment sector (moulds and die cutting tools), sheet metal working, carpentry and prototyping, WORKPLAN interfaces directly with CAD/CAM solutions to optimize and accurately manage production processes. WORKPLAN Brand Manager Christophe MAS explains: “All technical data, bills of materials, programs and machining times are synchronized with a single click in the software.”

A new interface for stock and program management
He says WORKPLAN’s functions also offer real added value to customers in the woodworking industry. WORKPLAN 2020.0 includes a simple and efficient stock management solution which incorporates aspects such as stock entries and withdrawals, stock taking, reject management and traceability.

The system is even more efficient when interfaced with ALPHACAM, Hexagon’s CAM programming solution configured for the woodworking sector. Once a program has been validated, relevant data and information concerning panels and boards are transferred to WORKPLAN in just a few mouse clicks.

New functionality: The Activity Basket
During the production preparation phase, users can create a basket of operations grouped together by service along with cost allocation according to individual requirements. The supervision window allows users to consolidate, per operator or per service, all baskets and programs either awaiting execution, in progress or completed. The application provides real time information concerning progress status, documentation and the number of manufactured components.

This allows WORKPLAN to avoid problems concerning the control and assignment of real cycle times and materials for each project as well as the risks of generating unbalanced job reports.

New Interface with CABINET VISION – the software suite for carpentry fittings and layouts
It is now possible to import the complete list of manufacturing operations from a CABINET VISION project into a WORKPLAN quotation by incorporating the calculated predicted times according to predefined rules. In this way, it is easier than ever for users to efficiently schedule several projects.

To conclude, Christophe MAS says that the new functions and improvements can boost the performance of all custom manufacturers working in diverse sectors of activity such as aerospace, automotive, mechanical engineering, sheet metal working and woodworking. “WORKPLAN guarantees a continuous digital information chain within a company thanks to project data traceability from the design phase right through to manufacturing. It gives production quality, conformity and security.”
