Increased capacity leads to new sales records

If you want to maintain a healthy growth, your production capacity has to match the demand. In 2017, after reaching its production limit at the headquarters in Igenhausen near Augsburg, HAIMER decided to set up a new production facility in Motzenhofen. The newly acquired 15,000 square meter industrial site initially consisted of a small office building and a warehouse. For the complete soft machining process of the tool holders a new, 4,000 square meter production hall was built. The large raw material warehouse has also been moved to this location.

In the final stage, HAIMER can increase its capacity to up to 4,000 tool holders per day. Managing Director Andreas Haimer explains: "This will probably make us the largest production plant for rotating tool holders worldwide and also within the high-quality sector 100% made in Germany." The company is investing in a large number of CNC lathes and milling machines this year. Also for the grinding process in Igenhausen new machines were purchased, in order to not just shift the bottleneck.

The area of shrinking technology is growing particularly strong and as the world market leader HAIMER can score with patented innovations. The family-owned company is also on the road to success with the presetting devices from HAIMER Microset – both for small devices as well as semi-automatic and fully automatic ones. All machines can be connected to the machine tool and thus provide all the necessary tool data. Andreas Haimer is convinced that the digitization process plays a major role for the future of machining. His consequence: "We have already implemented many projects in order to align our complete product range to this trend."

In 2019, among other things, the HAIMER DAC (Data Analyzer and Controller) will be further developed and introduced to the market in order to be able to offer holistic network solutions related to tool (data) management.

Growth drivers for HAIMER are Asia and the USA, as well as Germany and other European markets. The export rate is now over 70 percent, and the trend is rising. HAIMER is expanding its local presence step by step. Hence the sales and service subsidiary HAIMER France-Belux SARL will shortly commence its operations. With its own office, large showroom and ten sales and services employees the new subsidiary aims at building an ever closer relationship to the local market. The Haimer Group now employs around 800 people worldwide and more than 500 of them are located in Germany.
