New Alligator End Mills Have Bite For Machining Aluminium

For highly productive machining of aluminium, Quickgrind has now introduced the new Alligator milling range that has been specifically designed for aluminium alloys and non-ferrous materials.

The new Alligator line has been developed and manufactured with superior grinding techniques that provide high material removal rates and excellent chip evacuation. The Alligator is suitable for HSM, slotting, roughing and profiling in the mould and die, aerospace and general subcontract sectors. Making the Alligator an outstanding performer for a wide variety of materials and applications, Quickgrind has made the Alligator available in three product lines. The new Alligator Duo is a sub micro grain carbide 2-flute end mill with centre cutting and the option of a square corner, radius and ‘zero’ dish for flat surface finishing.

Alongside the Alligator Duo is the Alligator Duo ‘Long Reach’ series of sub micro grain carbide 2-flute centre cutting end mills.  Available with square corner and radius, the Alligator Duo ‘Long Reach’ incorporates a rigid design with a short flute length and long reach that make this a very versatile tool for high material removal rates in long-reach machining applications. Completing the Alligator Series is the new Alligator Trio. This 3-flute addition offers all the benefits of the 2-flute variants with its centre cutting geometry and square corner or radius options.

The three new Alligator end mill product lines meet the modern day demands of machining aluminium and aluminium alloys with material removal rates, reliable and consistent tool life and productivity improvements that are the envy of its rivals. Manufactured in the UK at Quickgrind’s Tewkesbury headquarters, the Alligator range is available in a complete range of diameters, lengths, flute lengths and radii that will suit the demands of the customer.
