GRUPPO PARPAS’ QUALITY DIAMOND LINEAR 30 INSTALLATION

Gruppo Parpas are pleased to announce they have successfully installed two gantry machining centres at an Italian manufacturer. Gruppo Parpas are a well-established company and they’re a major manufacturer of medium to large range of sophisticated machine tools. This installation in Europe shows the quality and sophistication of machining that can be carried out with the Diamond Linear 30.

The Diamond Linear 30 features a monobloc structure with a gantry moving saddle and stationary workpiece. The Diamond 30 can be available in a “Linear” configuration with linear motors for 3 machine axes and torque motors for rotary axes.

There are various stages of production which utilise four pallets/stations on a linear shuttle system that moves the parts to different stations within its operating area, this also includes entry to the Diamond Linear 30. There are many advantages to this particular flexible manufacturing system, including thermal stability, which is achieved by monitoring and compensating its thermal environment at all times and is specifically designed to work at a certain temperature to keep the highest precision in production in order to avoid distortion. The ease of transferring parts is also something which helps to speed up production, saving time and hours by manufacturing more parts quickly.

These new machine tools and the flexible manufacturing system helps the company generate new business with the capability to manufacture other bigger parts for various other industries in Europe such as aerospace, mould and die and automotive. The machine capabilities are shown in the video below, where you will see excellent surface finishes in continuous 5-axis machining of tool steel.
