Restormel Machine in Lostwithiel in Cornwall have lost business overseas, as have a lot of UK engineering companies. It’s not that they aren’t producing decent quality products, that has never been an issue, it’s essentially down to price. So how do you address this issue? Simple, buy a new machine!
Restormel Machine already have a great suite of mills and lathes but by investing in the latest technology they have seen huge cycle time reductions. As part of their range they have a number of Citizen Miyano machines, but they were a few years old. By investing in a new Citizen Cincom L32 they have seen improvements compared to their older machines;

Plus loads more.
The result, reduced cycle times and improved efficiency which has meant they have won work back from overseas.
